XP Seminar Speakers - Kent Beck
Kent Beck
Kent Beck has programmed, thought about, and communicated about objects for 17 years. He's made significant contributions to the maturing of the object-oriented framework, and today works throughout the world as a consultant and speaker. He is the author of the founding book "Extreme Programming Explained: Embrace Change", of "Planning Extreme Programming" (with Martin Fowler) and the forthcoming "Extreme Leadership". Kent developed his ideas for keeping code "elegantly written" when called in by Chrysler in 1996 to resume a major product that had gone off the rails. The rest, as they say, is history.
Ian Mitchell
Ian is a well known experienced Management and IT consultant. He has supervised several developments of more than 1 million lines of code, lead teams in forming their coding standards, specified an object-oriented language and IDE, drafted national IS policies and developed IS strategy plans in both public and private sectors. Ian has a track record in leading young high-energy developement teams to excellence.
Rick Mugridge
Rick is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Auckland. He has been involved in the development of a new Software Engineering degree. He has been teaching XP to the Software Engineering students and enjoys using XP whenever he can.
Bryan Dollery
Bryan Dollery has around 18 years experience in IT as a programmer, manager and software architect. He loves XP, and is particularly interrested in its effects on business and social structures. Bryan has run a couple of XP projects in New Zealand, and swears that he won't work any other way again. Bryan consults as an XP evangelist, coach and trainer, including courses for Software Education.
Steve Hayes
Steve Hayes has been developing software for over 15 years, working in a wide range of positions and geographic locations, including Silicon Valley and Wall St. Steve is particularly interested in skills transfer and mentoring. Since 1999 Steve has been intimately involved in extreme programming, as a coach, consultant and author.
